In the midst of Colorado’s annual grape harvest, the town of Palisade hosts the Colorado Mountain Winefest. During the harvest, wineries are extremely busy harvesting and serving wine to the thousands of visitors that come for the festive weekend. The multi-day festival takes place September 15 – 18th.

Not only is it a busy time of year, but it’s also when the Grand Valley enjoys some of its best weather of the season.

Hosted at the Riverbend Park, the Colorado Winefest organizes virtually every winery in the entire state of Colorado. Each winery pours all sorts of samples of the wines they offer making for a spectacular assortment of uniquely tasting wines. Alongside all of the many wineries, there are also food vendors, arts, craft and live music. This year, the Colorado Mountain Winefest will also host several events including Wine, Dine & Paint, scenic bus tours, gourmet cider pairings, VIP wine tasting &  SOMM screening, chocolate & wine tastings, a grape growing seminar, a farmer’s market, and The Festival in the Park.

While wine tasting can certainly offer Colorado Mountain Winefest visitors a taste of the many different wines in Colorado, quite possibly the best way to experience wine making and tasting from seed to sip is from the seat of a bike. From cruising on quiet country roads to sipping locally made wine on a winery tour, our Classic Palisade Wine Country Guided Day Tour serves to bring riders the full wine tasting experience.

Make a toast to the grape harvest and raise your glass to Colorado’s finest Winefest along with thousands of other wine lovers who travel to the festival each year to sample the growing variety of Colorado wine.
